Solar Panels for Nigeria
Mini-Grid + C&I Ready (2026)

Nigeria has ~25M people without grid access — the largest off-grid market in Africa. REA (Rural Electrification Agency) targets 5 GW of distributed solar by 2030 under NEP program. JUSTSOLAR supplies REA-compliant TOPCon + HJT modules at 10-15% better $/W than Tier-1 brands.

Nigeria Solar Import FAQ

What certifications do solar panels need for Nigeria?

IEC 61215 + IEC 61730 (international standards) required for REA mini-grid projects and NEP (Nigeria Electrification Program). SON (Standards Organisation of Nigeria) MANCAP approval for retail. For REA Performance-Based Grants (PBG), documentation must include Factory Acceptance Test + Flash Test reports per container. JUSTSOLAR provides full cert bundle.

What's the import structure for solar panels to Nigeria?

Import duty on solar modules: 5% (HS 8541.40). VAT: 7.5%. ETLS + port charges: ~5-7%. Total nationalization: ~18-22% on CIF. REA mini-grid projects under NEP often qualify for duty waivers — check with your customs broker about Project-Specific Import Duty Exemption. Lagos port congestion can add 2-4 weeks to clearance.

Can JUSTSOLAR supply REA mini-grid developers?

Yes — we supply modules to REA-approved mini-grid developers under PBG program. For projects at the REA Performance-Based Grants (capped $600/connection subsidy), our 600W TOPCon hits the sweet spot for cost-per-kWp. We also support larger C&I EPCs in Lagos/Abuja. Get REA tender specs to Frank and we'll advise technical fit.

How do you handle Lagos port congestion?

Lagos Apapa/Tin Can can have 2-4 week congestion delays. We work with experienced forwarders who book priority slots. Alternative: ship to Tema (Ghana) or Cotonou (Benin) and truck overland to Nigeria — sometimes faster for Northern Nigeria projects. Onne Port (Port Harcourt) is faster clearance if destination is Eastern Nigeria. We quote multiple routing options.

What payment terms for Nigerian buyers?

Nigeria is considered high-risk region for exporters. For new Nigerian clients: 100% T/T before shipment typically required (we can't release goods on B/L copy for first orders). Established clients with track record: 30% + 70% before shipment possible. L/C from First Bank, Zenith, GTBank, UBA, Access Bank accepted for 5+ container orders with confirmed international credit line. USD only.

Do you support Nigerian off-grid / mini-grid projects?

Yes. Mini-grid is Nigeria's #1 solar opportunity (~25M people without grid access, REA target 5GW by 2030). JUSTSOLAR 600W TOPCon + compatible inverters + battery packages available. For 20-100 kWp mini-grid sites, we offer container-level packaged systems. Let Frank know site count and capacity per site.

Who are your Nigerian customers?

We supply REA-approved mini-grid developers (Havenhill, Winock, Solar Sister, etc.), C&I EPCs in Lagos/Abuja/Port Harcourt for commercial rooftop, and industrial plant integrators. Also working with Niger Delta off-grid projects. English support via Frank on WhatsApp.
